A group of us at Gilt Groupe are making a commitment to completing a free, online course: Stanford School of Engineering’s Machine Learning CS229
We meet twice a week and watch one of the lectures. We print out notes, and we’re about to work through our first problem set.
I didn’t study computer science in school. This is my first Comp-Sci course. So far it’s completely over my head. It requires serious math chops that I am lacking. But I’m thrilled to be taking it. I’ll be leaning on my fellow “classmates” to help me along.
I think if you’re a part of a company, even one smaller than Gilt, you should try doing something like this.
